Private Lessons
Private lesson time lies at the heart of music education and development. It is the place where knowledge, instincts, and skills are refined so that they might be more effectively and efficiently applied to practice, performance, and expression. As your teacher, I see my role as that of a mentor and guide, giving feedback and mapping out a pathway of challenging tasks which lead to growth in the pursuit of goals we set together. These goals will be based on your interests, dreams, and aspirations while also paying special attention to the standards of technique, skill, and understanding that will equip you for a lifetime of musical growth and enjoyment.

Developing Character
Though private lessons are primarily about the acquisition, selective reinforcement, and application of musical principles through the study of etudes, orchestral excerpts, and solo repertoire, I also see them as opportunities for developing character traits: discipline, grit, determination, self-management and growth mindset, all of which are key in building a successful and rewarding adult life regardless of your eventual career.
